Details of how to change the logo or top of the page image in Wordpress.

Let's walk through changing the image at the top of the page. We need to find the existing image and replace it with our own image of the same name.

First find the image file of the existing logo in the theme you want to modify. From the image program, crop it to be the same size as the logo, save it as a jpg file with the same name as the original logo image.

See the themes directory? The pink_lady theme is the one I am using as an example.

The images for a logo that are used on the site are found in the directory: images. inside the theme.

The picture at the right is a list of the files in "images" directory.

blank.gif is a small blank image used as an invisible spacer.

top.gif is an edge image that forms the top edge.

top.jpg is the actual logo image in this case. Use an image viewer to find the existing logo file.

This is the pink_lady logo file:

You would need to create a new image for your new look. You can just give it the same name "top.jpg" and upload that to the /themes/pink_lady/images/ directory and replace the existing image. Your site will now have a new logo.

With kind permission from Suzann Kale, webmaster and blogger for

"The Goddess Files" , this is a modified copy of her new logo.
