This assumes you need to download Wordpress rather than having it installed for you by your ISP site host. HostRocket provides the "Fantastico" script to install Wordpress in 10 seconds and without any work on your part to create a database or install Wordpress .

But if you need to do it manually, then this is the first step.

First you go to the following page and find the latest stable version. They list a lot of obsolete versions and generally one that is stable. You can also get the documentation here.

Go here to download Wordpress
Once you find it, click on it and you are taken to the second page where you select the version for you system.

If you personal computer is Windows, then get the Zip file.
